about

I LOVED WORKING ON THIS SONG. There are so many reasons why I'm glad this request won the vote on Patreon.

Switchblade Symphony was ubiquitous in the Bay Area goth scene in the 90s. I was a fan and also envious of their coolness and scene cred, as a wee baby bat. I got to see them open for The Creatures at Maritime Hall in 1996/97, and touched Siouxsie's boot that night and have been blessed with inner darkness ever since.

I had an absolutely marvelous time recording everything for this track. It's a simple but powerful song, which really gave me an opportunity to focus on vibe and energy.

This song was subscriber-only until May 22 -- happy World Goth Day, folks!

I can't find the songwriting credits for this track but Switchblade Symphony was Tina Root (vocals), Susan Wallace (keyboards), and Robin Jacobs (guitar).
