The Loneliest Room in Your Head

about

I wrote this song almost automatically a couple of weeks ago when I had planned to take a relaxing bath at the end of a long day of childcare… this happened instead.

It’s about writing songs that remind people of lonely, depressed days that perhaps they’ve moved past. But still the sad songs are compelling and empathy-inspiring.

I made a little 9x16 video yesterday that needs a little editing and I hope to post on Monday.

lyrics

Ooh unsurprisingly I have
Stumbled into the sound
Of the loneliest place in your head
Are you even around?

Am I alone in this:
Do you always feel held now?
[forgetting the dark of your history]

Oh give me a reason to stay on earth
What will take to make it worth
The suffering I experience
The suffering I cause
Why does it have so much more power than bliss does?

So I, so I, so I beg pull me out and give me more
Many have died of lack of pleasure before
Have you known desperation
To find your heart a home?

And always try to be compassionate to those who were here before:
“We humbly submit we would love to enrich the lives you have here”
