You've probably heard this song in elevators, or perhaps caught Sexy Sax Man guerrilla-saxing it up in a food court. (warning link contains ads)

This is a totally serious take on an undeniably corny original. I was struck with inspiration what it should sound like, and I did 98% of the work on this track in one fateful day, 1/26/2011, which basically defined my plan for Uncovered Volume 1.

I've been covering this song for several years, on piano, and even before that, I'd learned it from rewinding over and over a VHS I'd taped of the Kids Incorporated* episode where they covered this song, when I was seven. (I had no idea the song was written by the same man who wrote "I Want Your Sex," which made me feel uncomfortable whenever it came on the radio lest my mother hear I was listening to it and take away my beloved radio or MTV.) The episode was a film noir dream episode. I loved that show (it seems unbearably cheesy now) and wanted to be on it but we lived in Maine at the time.

This is a bellydance favorite now, and gets both laughs and genuine musical appreciation, as far as I can tell.

*Kids Incorporated was like an 80's kids show version of Glee. Before autotune, of course.
